Normalize Spacing

Normalize Spacing collapses any run of multiple consecutive spaces (or tabs) into a single space and trims whitespace from the start and end of each line. Use it to clean up text pasted from PDFs, web pages, or documents where formatting has introduced irregular spacing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it affect newlines?

No — line breaks are preserved. Only spaces and tabs within a line are collapsed.

What is the difference between Trim Whitespace and Normalize Spacing?

Trim Whitespace only removes spaces at the start and end of each line. Normalize Spacing also collapses multiple internal spaces into one.
